DOC HEAD: OUR BAD
Wednesday, February 24th, 2010 -- 11:40 am Posted by Riley Hebert-News Director
The head of the Wisconsin Department of Corrections didn't mince words at a meeting Tuesday.
Secretary Rick Raemisch apologized to residents of Stanley, a called the release of two prisoners a "huge mistake."
Convicted killer Jimmy Baldwin of Milwaukee and fellow convict Eddie Evans of Madison were released during the week of Jan. 18. They were subsequently re-arrested Jan. 26.
Raemisch says Tuesday that a third inmate had forged documents, but an internal audit caught the plot before he was released.
