FOR SALE: SOME HEAVILY TAXED RIVERFRONT PROPERTY

Looking for some cheap riverside property? We’ve found some, but there’s a catch.

A couple of banks are attempting to sell the 4 buildings that used to house residents of the now defunct Sunburst Youth Homes. The property is located on Neillsville’s western edge, on the east shore of the scenic Black River.

The properties are cheap. According to real estate listings, one, located at 320 Elysian Dr., can be yours for only $59,900 – a steal seeing the four parcels also have around 2 acres of land a piece.

Now, here’s the catch. The estimated tax on the residentially zoned property is $16,689 per year.

Ellen Clark in the City’s Clerk’s office says the properties are assessed at between $250,000 and $596,000.
