HEALTH RANKINGS PUT CLARK CO. IN MIDDLE OF THE PACK

The University of Wisconsin Population Health Institute is out with their annual health rankings for 2010, and Clark County is in the middle of the pack.
The study considers the quality of health care, behaviors, socioeconomic factors and the physical environment to determine ranks.
Clark County ranks 47th for health outcomes and 49th for health determinants.
Other counties in the area are healthier. Taylor County is 9th healthiest; Eau Claire is 13th; Wood County 18th and Marathon County 20th. Jackson County is near the bottom of the list, ranked 69th.
The Rankings are a call to action for leaders in health care, business, education and media to take a comprehensive approach to improving the health of their communities.
