LARGE CROWD MOURNS FAIRCHILD SOLDIER'S DEATH

Hundreds of people attended the funeral for a soldier from Fairchild who died in a bomb blast in Baghdad. Specialist Charles Kaufman served in the Army National Guard's First Battalion, 128th Infantry from the Eau Claire. Charles Kaufman was fatally injured June 26th when a roadside bomb exploded near his Humvee. Many at the funeral spoke of the 20-year-old Kaufman's courage, confidence and ability. Kaufman was the 40th Wisconsin soldier or Marine killed in Iraq and the second member of the 128th to die in Iraq.
