THURSDAY'S WEATHER CAUSED PROBLEMS
Friday, December 31st, 2004 -- 11:03 am Posted by Riley Hebert-News Director
It was a double-dose of bad driving weather for central Wisconsin yesterday. First, extremely treacherous freezing rain in the morning and then a thick-as-pea-soup fog moved into the area Thursday night. Chief Deputy Jim Backus of the Clark County Sheriff’s Department says there wree over 20 accidents on county roads yesterday; thankfully only three had injuries. Meanwhile, a Wood County deputy was responding to a report of a car in the ditch in the Babcock area. The officer was driving slow because of the bad conditions, but still was unable to stop at an intersection and collided with a car. It was an extremely low-speed accident and there were no injuries.
