WIAA TO BROADCAST STATE GAMES IN HI-DEF
Monday, February 1st, 2010 -- 11:28 am
Posted by Larry Hoeser, Sports Director

The Wisconsin Interscholastic Athletic Association and its State Television Network partner, Quincy Newspapers, Inc., announce plans to telecast the 2010 State Boys and Girls Basketball Tournaments and the State Boys and Girls Hockey finals in high definition on WIAA State Television Network stations. In our area the Network includes WAOW-TV in Wausau, WQOW-TV in Eau Claire, and WXOW-TV in La Crosse. Audiences watching WIAA programming on those stations will now be able to enjoy them in high definition (where available), which accentuates the leadership role the WIAA and the WIAA State Television Network has achieved in delivering high school State Tournaments to Wisconsin households. The WIAA State Boys and Girls Hockey Tournaments are scheduled for March 4-6 at the Alliant Energy Center in Madison. The live broadcast of the State Girls Hockey final is slated for Saturday, March 6 at noon with the boy’s title game immediately following. The WIAA State Boys Basketball Tournament is scheduled for March 18-20 at the Kohl Center in Madison. The State Girls Basketball Tournament moves back into the Kohl Center this year on March 25-27. Both tournaments will be aired live in their entirety on the WIAA State Television Network.
