DECEMBER WAS TOUGH MONTH FOR JOB-SEEKERS

December was a tough month for job-seekers in Clark County.
According to Department of Workforce Development figures released Wednesday, Clark County’s jobless rate jumped nearly 2% from 8.3% in November to 10.2% in December.
The county’s rank also shot up. In November, Clark County's jobless rate was the 38th highest in the state; last month, it was 23rd highest.
The December rate is 3.5% higher than December 2008.
