BOY DIES IN SNOWBOARDING MISHAP

A 9-year-old boy has died in a snowboarding accident near Black River Falls.
Jackson County sheriff's officials say the boy was snowboarding Saturday afternoon at his grandparents' property.
The boy apparently slid onto a highway and was struck by a passing van.
He was airlifted to a hospital in Eau Claire, but died a short time later.
