GOVERNOR APPOINTS NEW WOOD COUNTY SHERIFF

Wood County residents now know who their new sheriff will be. Thomas Reichert, the current juvenille affairs investigator, will be sworn in to replace Kurt Heuer tomorrow. Governor Doyle announced his appointment yesterday. Reichert plans to focus on drug-related issues and to crimes involving children. Reichert’s term will end Jan. 1, 2007, but he plans to seek election to keep the job four more years.
