CELL PHONE OUTAGE
Monday, December 14th, 2009 -- 11:27 am Posted by Riley Hebert-News Director
Thousands of area residents couldn’t make cell phone calls Sunday night.
Verizon and AllTel customers were without phone service from about 7:45 p.m. until 12:45 a.m. Monday morning.
The company says there was a call routing issue at a switch operation in the Appleton/Green Bay area. They are looking at additional measures needed to prevent this from happening in the future.
The northwest corner of Wisconsin, including Clark County, seemed to be hardest hit by the outage.
