WICK FILES FOR CHAPTER 11

It used to be one of the area’s largest employers, now it appears Wick Building Systems may be closing for good.
Wick has filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy.
It plans to permanently close the Marshfield and Dane County divisions. The company had announced layoffs and a shutdown of its Marshfield facility last month.
When business was booming in the 90s, there were close to 700 employees at their Marshfield production facility.
The balance sheet are unsustainable because of the downturn in the housing market over the last two years, company officials say.
