Investigators still aren’t sure why a 79-year-old Chili man’s vehicle was stopped on the railroad tracks in Marshfield, but they now say alcohol wasn’t a factor.

A train collided with Willard Geldernick’s vehicle on October 10th. On Monday, he died from injuries sustained in the crash.

He was originally cited for drunk driving, but police now say toxicology reports indicated he had not been drinking before the accident.
