A Hatfield man will spend at least the next 35 years behind bars after admitting to killing his wife last year.

After an emotional sentencing hearing, a Jackson County judge sentenced Doug Sidie to life with the eligibility for parole after 35 years.

Sidie pleaded guilty to a charge of first-degree intentional homicide for shooting Alisha Sidie in the face, then hiding her body.

He assisted as searchers looked for Alisha for a week, but eventually confessed to the killing and led authorities to her body.
