Wednesday, October 14th, 2009 -- 8:37 am
Posted by Riley Hebert-News Director

Some scary moments for well-known Neillsville landmark last night.

The Neillsville Fire Department was called to Tuft’s Bed and Breakfast at 26 Hewett Street last night after fire broke out in the chimney. The fire was reported at 5:27 p.m.

Fire Chief Matt Meyer says there was quite a bit of fire in the chimney when they arrived, but they were able to douse the flames without any structural damage to the building.

There was quite a bit of smoke in the house, but no damage.

The crew spent around one half-hour at the scene.
