MEIER BACK IN COURT

The man accused of felony-murder for his role in a Neillsville bar room fight will be back in court this morning on new charges.

Tyler Meier is now charged with violating conditions of his cash bond after he was arrested driving drunk in Rhinelander last month.

Meier quickly settled the matter by pleading to 3rd offense OWI. He received 90 days in Oneida County Jail, a fine and license revocation.

Meier will appear this morning on the bail jumping charges. District Attorney Darwin Zwieg will seek a significant increase in the bail amount.

Prosecutors allege Meier punched 43-year-old Keith Young at the Brickyard Bar and Restaurant on February 1st. Young fell, apparently hitting his head. He was hospitalized in critical condition from shortly after the assault, to the time of his death on February 3.

Meier was released from jail after his family posted a $20,000 cash bond; the bond was later reduced to $10,000.

Meier will next appear on the Felony-Murder charge on December 1.
