TAUSCHER SIGNS WITH PACKERS
Monday, October 12th, 2009 -- 10:38 am
Posted by Larry Hoeser, Sports Director

The Green Bay Packers have signed veteran tackle Mark Tauscher and placed cornerback/return man Will Blackmon on injured reserve. Tauscher, a 10th-year veteran who has started 120 games for the Packers, hasn't played since blowing out his left knee last Dec. 7 in a game against Houston. He worked out for the Packers last Tuesday, and it became clear shortly after that the team planned to sign him.
Coach Mike McCarthy said last week Allen Barbre would remain the starter in Tauscher's old spot at right tackle for the time being. But that could change quickly depending on how Tauscher looks in practice. Blackmon tore his left ACL in the Packers' loss Oct. 5 at Minnesota.
