WIAA GIRLS GOLF CHAMPIONSHIPS AT UNIVERSITY RIDGE BEGIN MONDAY

The 38th Annual Wisconsin Interscholastic Athletic Association Girls State Golf Championships will be held Monday and Tuesday, Oct. 12-13, at the University Ridge Golf Course in Madison. In Division 1, senior Cassandra Marshall of Marshfield will compete as an individual qualifier. Also competing as individuals from the Clover-Valley Golf League in Division 2 are junior Addie Vold of Osseo-Fairchild, sophomore Katie Pokrondt of Regis. The schools qualifying for the State meet in Division 1 are Arrowhead, Divine Savior Holy Angels, Eau Claire Memorial, Janesville Parker, Kettle Moraine, Middleton, Neenah, Notre Dame, Onalaska, Oregon, Pius XI and Sheboygan North/South. Challenging for the Division 2 team championship are Baldwin-Woodville, Denmark, Edgerton, Edgewood, Hayward and Xavier. In the 37 years of the girls championships, Edgewood has won the most team championships with eight, all coming consecutively the last eight years.
