FALL ATV TRAIL CLOSURE APPROVED

The Clark County Forestry and Parks Committee unanimously passed a motion Thursday to close down the ATV trail system from November 1 to December 15th.
The measure would require an ordinance change that must be approved by the full County Board. If approved, the change will not go into effect until 2010.
Jackson Co. already closes their trail system during that time, and Clark County’s system usually sees extra traffic as a result.
The trail system has suffered increased wear and tear due to the growing popularity of the sport. County officials say it’s very difficult to find time to do the needed maintenance and grading.
