They might not be this happy in, say three months or so, but Neillsville students sure seemed excited to be back in school Tuesday.

Elementary students and their teachers met for an end of day assembly. Tim Rueth is taking over the reigns as elementary principal, on top of his duties as middle school principal.

"The first day has gone outstanding," Reuth said. "I'm interested to see how the teachers deal with the challenges they face, but, so far, so good."

"I've had nothing but hugs and good wishes. The students seem to be adjusting very well."
