AUGUSTA MAN DEAD AFTER ACCIDENT NEAR HATFIELD

A 64-year-old Augusta man is dead after a bizarre traffic accident near Hatfield.
According to the Clark County Sheriff’s Deapartment, a truck operated by Larry Mayer apparently entered a ditch near the intersection of Gorman Avenue and Rouse Road.
The truck entered the ditch and became stuck. The tires spun until they started on fire.
At 9:35 a.m. on Monday, a passerby called 9-1-1 reporting a burned vehicle with a body.
It is estimated this incident occurred within the previous 12 hours.
The investigation is continuing by the Clark County Sheriff’s Dept. This is the fifth fatality in Clark County for 2009.
