GOV. SIGNS 10-YEAR-OLD HUNTING BILL

Beginning in September, Wisconsin residents age 10 and up can go hunting with mentors adults without taking a training course.
Gov. Jim Doyle signed a bill Thursday that supporters hope preserves the state's hunting heritage.
Under the bill, youngsters 10 and older can go out with an adult who has a hunting license. There can only be one gun or bow between them, and the two must stay within arm's reach.
Previously, Wisconsin's minimum hunting age was 12.
