The driver of a semi involved in a high-speed chase that ended with gunshots in Marshfield had five warrants out for his arrest.

Marshfield Police say the warrants ranged from sexual assault of a child under to prostitution.

The chase began Saturday morning when police tried stopping the man near Abbotsford. That’s when the truck sped off, beginning an hour-long chase.

Police were forced to fire at the semi, until the driver eventually surrendered on Business Highway 13 in Marshfield.

He is in custody in Marathon County, where officials say they plan to charge him with 1st degree reckless endangerment and fleeing from an officer. Marshfield police say they too plan to charge him with fleeing an officer.
