MISSING: ONE LARGE WOODEN TIGER
Thursday, May 19th, 2005 -- 10:17 am Posted by Riley Hebert-News Director
The Marshfield school district is offering a $500 reward for information leading to the return of their tiger. No – not a real tiger. Someone nabbed the life-size wooden tiger that sat in their auditorium. It’s valued at $25,000. Officials believe this could be a "senior prank" of some kind; however, they have alerted regional auction markets that they're missing the mascot tiger, carved by Hal Bitzer in 1968 and 1969. It was donated to the school in 1969. Bitzer is a well-known known folk artist. The tiger was apparently taken late Friday night or early Saturday morning.
