EXPRESS SWEPT IN MADISON

The Eau Claire Express were swept in their weekend series against Madison, falling to the Mallards 11-7 last night before just over 6,000 fans at the Duck Pond in Madison. The Express head into the All-Star break with a 5-12 second half record, 5.5 games back of LaCrosse and Madison in the Northwoods League South Division. Also Eau Claire announced Friday that tickets for the 2009 Northwoods League Playoffs will go on sale beginning Saturday August 1. The Express won the first half title in the Northwoods League South Division, which guarantees at least one home playoff game. The date of this game will depend on how the overall records in the division end up, but the game will be played on either August 11 or August 12. Season ticket holders will have until August 1 to purchase their seats for any playoff games that Eau Claire will host. After that point, all tickets will be available for the public to purchase
