FORMER EAU CLAIRE EXPRESS PITCHER GETS 1ST MAJOR LEAGUE HIT

Former Eau Claire Express pitcher Jordan Zimmerman of the Washington Nationals got his first two hits in the major leagues yesterday and picked up his 2nd career RBI. On the mound Zimmermann allowed two runs over six innings, scattering six hits while striking out six. Zimmermann gets a no-deicision as the Nationals' lost to the Florida Marlins 5-3. His record this year is 3-3, with an ERA of 4.52.
Meanwhile, the longest losing streak of the season for the Eau Claire Express ended at two games last night at Wausau. The Express scored in the top of the tenth inning to defeat the Wisconsin Woodchucks 4-3. There is now one game remaining in the first half of the season for the Express. They will take on the Woodchucks again in Wausau tonight. The Express will be on the road most of this next week, but they will be home on the Fourth of July to take on Rochester. Eau Claire has hosted a Fourth of July game every year in their existence and continue to draw huge crowds for the game. A fireworks show will follow the game. The game will start at 6:05 p.m. with the fireworks starting shortly after the game.
