If our country’s health care system is to be reformed, Wisconsin should be used as a model.

That according to Memorial Medical Center CEO Scott Polenz, who’s touting results from the federal Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality (AHRQ) report.

Last week, AHRQ released data that showed Wisconsin ranked first in the country for health care quality.

The report breaks health care down into three categories: type of care, setting of care and by clinical areas.

Wisconsin has consistently ranked at or near the very top of AHRQ's annual report for overall health care quality. Wisconsin ranked number one in 2006 and was second only to Minnesota in 2007. Minnesota was second to Wisconsin in the most recent rankings.
