FAMILIES COULD BE CONCERNED AFTER SOLDIER'S DEATH

Staff Sgt. Todd Olson was one of 35 soldiers with Detachment 1, Company C of the Wisconsin National Guard's 1st Battalion, 128th Infantry based in Neillsville. Lt. Col. Tim Donovan (of the Wisconsin National Guard says the Guard understands Olson’s death has put other families of unit members on edge.

At a meeting yesterday, officials discussed putting together a conference of some kind for those family members and Donovan is trying to track down more information on what the 128th is doing in Iraq.

He says it is probable that the Neillsville-based detachment was kept in tact, meaning they would be in the Samarra area, where Olson was killed.

"I wouldn't assume anything right now, but normally units aren't divided below company level. I wouldn't think they were divided."

It is probable that the whole company is in the Samarra-area.
