200 ducklings died in a shed fire outside of Neillsville Monday morning.

According to Fire Chief Matt Meyer, the fire was reported at around 6:58 a.m. It was located at N6230 CTH G, in the Town of Weston.

The facility is owned by Genesis Midwest, an animal research facility.

The crew was on the scene for just over an hour. They received tanker assistance from Greenwood.

The 20 X 60 pole shed was still standing, but the interior was totaled.

Meyer says 200 week-old ducklings were consumed in the blaze.
