A Neillsville manufacturer is again scaling back, but hopes it’s just a temporary move.

OEM Fabricators, Inc., based in Woodville with a plant in Neillsville Industrial park, confirmed Monday that it has again been forced to reduce the size of its workforce.

10 employees at the Neillsville facility a have been placed on temporary layoff.

Larry Larsen, HR Manager for the company, said the company’s actions are just one more example of the “depth and breadth” of this economic downturn.

The company says it is still committed to its long-term strategy of operating multiple manufacturing facilities here in Wisconsin. They are ramping up marketing efforts in an effort to bring back the laid off workers as soon as possible.

We reported in late April that OEM laid off between 30 and 40 workers.

OEM specializes in the fabrication of medium to heavy gauge steel components for other manufacturers.
