In-fighting amongst Republicans has cost a local leader his job.
The Marathon County Republican Party fired its spokesman last week.
Kevin Stevenson submitted an op-ed piece criticizing conservative icon Rush Limbaugh for saying he wanted Pres. Obama to fail.
Stevenson, who describes himself as a moderate Republican in mold of John McCain, said the group’s executive committee approved the column, but rank-and-file Reublicans objected, leading to his removal.
The Republican Party appears to be fractured at the moment: some Republicans would like the party to move to the right, while moderates feel their only chance of winning back key offices is to move to the middle.
