BREAKFAST ON THE FARM

It’s right up there with Friday fish fries, calling water fountains bubblers and the Packers.

You can find a dairy breakfast every weekend in June here in Clark County. The County-wide Dairy Breakfast will be this Sunday at the Ron and Dianne Vine homestead near Granton.

"This is our 21st breakfast." explains Granton FFA adviser, "The purpose of the breakfast is to promote comradarie of friends and family all getting together, and to promote agriculture as the basis of our food production."

"A lot of times, people forget where their food comes from. Without agriculture in their lives, they wouldn't have that quality food," Steinbach says.

But, it’s a lot of work. They expect to serve 1,500 people. That takes a lot of food.

"We're going to hand crack about 300 dozen eggs. He does about 1,200 plates of 4 pancakes. Close to 5,000 pancakes," she explains.

The Granton FFA Alumni, who sponsor the event, are very tight-lipped about their special recipe eggs.

"You know, it's all about love," Steinbach kids, "It's the FFA Alumni ladies and gentleman that put their hard work and dedication in it. Nowhere else can you get it, because it's all made with Granton FFA love."

They’ll be serving Sunday from 7:00 am to 12:30 pm. You can find the Vine farm at W3866 Hill Road. Just follow the signs down Pray Rd. near Fannies.
