SCAMS TARGET OLDER AREA RESIDENTS

Older area residents continue to be targets of a number of phone scams.
The Neillsville Police Department received another complaint from an area woman who says she was contacted by a man who claimed to be her grandson.
As the scam goes, the man knew the grandson’s name and requested $4,800 be wired to Canada.
This is a scam, and authorities say people should be very leery of any calls like this.
