GOV. MAKES MFLD STREET PROJECT OFFICIAL
Thursday, March 19th, 2009 -- 9:45 am Posted by Riley Hebert-News Director
It’s nothing that wasn’t expected, but Gov. Doyle has made a big Marshfield street project official.
As part of his “Grow Wisconsin” initiative to invest in Wisconsin’s infrastructure Doyle recently signed a $9-million contract to improve 1.3 miles of Central Avenue in the city of Marshfield.
Construction is scheduled to begin March 23, 2009.
Trierweiler Construction is the prime contractor for the project. Crews will reconstruct the roadway between South Roddis Avenue and Veterans Parkway. The project includes intersection improvements, a dedicated bike lane Wildwood Park to 7th Street, new street lighting and crosswalk enhancements.
Construction is scheduled for completion by November.
During construction, Central Avenue will be detoured.
The project will be paid with a combination of federal, state, and local transportation funds.
