PLANNING ISSUE COULD COME BACK TO BOARD
Monday, March 9th, 2009 -- 11:24 am Posted by Riley Hebert-News Director
A topic that became one of the more divisive in the history of the Clark County Board of Supervisors may make a return.
After six years of planning, the Clark County Board voted down the Year 2025 Comprehensive Plan in January 2006. The vote was 14-13 with two absent.
The plan, utilizing state Smart Growth protocol, was seen by many property rights advocates as a power grab by the government; while those involved in the process claimed less sinister motives.
Now, the Planning and Zoning Committee might look for direction.
At their meeting Wednesday, the committee will discuss possibly sending a resolution to the full board seeking direction on the planning process.
