PRIMARY RESULTS

Deputy state superintendent Tony Evers and virtual schools advocate Rose Fernandez emerged from a field of 5 candidates to advance in the state superintendent race.
Evers was the top vote-getter Tuesday with 37%, based on early results. Fernandez had 30%, with 38% of precincts reporting.
They finished ahead of 3 other candidates who were eliminated.
There was also a primary for the Loyal School Board last night.
Incumbent Katie Weiler and Jason Toufar will square off in next month’s General Election. With 136 and 84 votes respectively, they out-paced a third candidate, Gerald Mrotek, who received 40 votes.
Weiler represents the City of Loyal district.
