WWC PLANS DETAILED

For all the bad economic news we’ve been bombarded with, it’s easy to forget the good news the local area has received.
First, Family Health Center of Marshfield plans to construct a new Dental Clinic in the Boon Commercial Park—that’s expected to bring 30 new jobs here, as well as patients from all over central Wisconsin.
Now, this week, Western Wisconsin Cares, a long term care district set up under the state’s new Family Care program, announces it will lease a quarter of the old Sunburst Administrative Building on the city’s west side.
"We will have between 20 and 23 jobs once we're full rolled out, which will probably be early summer," explains WWC Executive Director Tim Garrity.
WWC provides a number of services for the elderly and disabled through the state’s Family Care system.
"We provide home and community-based services. Those range from things like residential placements...to community-based options, such as home-care, or personal care, meals on wheels or different types of therapy," Garrity says.
The new jobs will run the gamut from physicians and registered nurses to social services employees and secretaries, Garrity says.
Clark County will come under the management of WWC on April 1. The office will be up and running before then.
