CLARK CO. JOBLESS RATE CLIMBS

Clark County’s unemployment rate jumped a full percentage point in the month of December.
The Wisconsin Department of Workforce Development released their unadjusted unemployment statistics Thursday afternoon.
Unemployment rates increased in 70 of the 72 Wisconsin counties during the month of December; only Green Lake and Florence counties saw the job market improve.
Meanwhile, Rusk and Taylor counties saw their rates jump by 1.9% and 1.8%, respectively, the biggest hikes in the state.
Clark County’s unemployment rate jumped from 5.2% in November to 6.2% in December.
That’s slightly higher than the statewide rate of 5.8%.
