Posted by Riley Hebert-News Director

Neillsville Police had fewer documented complaints and arrests dropped considerably in 2008.

Neillsville Police Chief Brad Lindner presented his annual report to the City Council this week.

Documented complaints to the department dropped from 1,732 in 2007 to 1,621 in 2008.

Citations dropped 46%, from 177 to 95; and arrests were down 28% from 122 to 88.

Police Chief Brad Lindner says one of the reasons appears to be officers were tied up with more complicated cases in 2008, leaving less time for citation writing.
