A Marshfield man married a Loyal woman in 2005… that’s fine… but, it turns out he was still married to another woman at the time of the marriage.
Thirty-one-year-old James Boatwright faces one charge of bigamy.
He married Elizabeth Boatwright in Loyal in 2005, but court records show he was still married to Crystal Evans in Maryville, Mo. The two were not divorced until December 2007.
Boatwright says he just wanted to put that part of his life behind him.
He’ll be in court in March. If convicted, he could spend 18-months in prison.
