Posted by Riley Hebert-News Director

An area home was severely damaged in a fire Friday morning.

The Neillsville Fire Department was called to the home at W7965 Moonlight Road near Snyder Lake at around 5:30 a.m.

While it was initially reported as a chimney fire, Fire Chief Matt Meyer believes it was actually caused by faulty wiring.

Parts of the home suffered significant structural damage; the entire home had smoke damage.

The crew spent around 2 ½ hours on the scene. Granton offered tanker assistance.
