NEW JUDGE IN SIDIE CASE
Friday, December 26th, 2008 -- 8:22 am
Posted by Riley Hebert-News Director

Another new judge has been assigned to the Douglas Sidie murder case.

Sidie is charged with shooting and killing 27-year-old Alisha Sidie November 7 at their home. Not guilty pleas were entered for first-degree homicide, hiding a corpse and nine misdemeanors after Sidie stood mute in court December 17.

La Crosse County Circuit Court Judge Elliot Levine will preside over the case. La Crosse County Judge Dale Pasell was assigned to the case when Jackson County Judge Thomas Lister removed himself because he represented Sidie in a civil lawsuit.

Sidie's defense attorney, John Brinckman, requested a new judge during Pasell's first day presiding over the case.

Sidie's next court appearance has not been scheduled.
