A major Neillsville employer is cutting back its operation in southern Wisconsin.

Cummins Emission Solutions is cutting 100 jobs, effective immediately, at its factory in Mineral Point that makes emission-control filters for the truck market.

The cut represents about 20% of the 480-person work force at Cummins Emissions Solutions, a unit of Cummins Inc.

The particulate filters are used to help engines in diesel trucks meet current environmental regulations.
