NEILLSVILLE FD BUSY ON SUNDAY

The fire danger is extremely high right now and that led to a busy day for the Neillsville fire department Sunday.
First, at 5:15 p.m., the crew tended to a large brush fire at N6739 Ives Avenue in the Town of Seif. Fire Chief Matt Meyer says it took it took 2-hours to extinguish the blaze, which gobbled up 15 to 20 acres of red pine. The DNR provided assistance.
No sooner did they finish with that fire than they were called out to another brush fire at N5721 County Hwy G. Meyer says a garbage burn got out of control. The crew spent around 1 ½-hours there.
