PUBLIC, LAW ENFORCEMENT SEARCH FOR SIDIE

Temperatures in the mid-20s and the threat of rain and snow didn’t stop hundreds of volunteers from heading out to search for a missing Jackson County woman Tuesday morning.

27-year-old Alisha Sidie, a mother of two, was last seen on Friday night at 9 p.m. That’s when her husband says the two got in an argument and she left their Hatfield home.

Volunteers searched the rugged terrain near the Black River Monday and were back at it again Tuesday.

"We have basically put a grid on all the area. We have basically eliminated each area one piece at a time," explains Gary Nordin of the Hatfield Fire Department.

"We're hoping the weather will cooperate again today," he added.

Crews are utilizing 3 search dogs, and have conducted searches of the canal downstream from the Hatfield Dam.

"We don't feel that she's in the river," Nordin says.

Sheriff Duane Waldera says the search has been fruitless so far.

"We covered a lot of area. So far, nothing has been turned up," he says.

Waldera says they have not ruled out foul play, but have no information that suggests something sinister happened to Sidie.

"We're ruling nothing out at this point," he continues, saying investigators are following "leads". "I have a group of investigators that are looking at everything."

Sidie is 5’5” and around 135 pounds with brown hair and brown eyes.

Friends say she was last seen wearing light blue scrubs and a long-sleeved white t-shirt.

Anyone with information should call the Jackson County Sheriff's Department at 715-284-5357.
