Report of Officers at Neillsville City Council Meeting

-The Neillsville City Council heard the Report of Officers at their meeting on Tuesday.

For the month of July, the Neillsville Police Department had 128 complaints, 61 service calls, 112 traffic citations, 98 traffic warnings, 2 crash investigations, 15 ordinance citations, 20 adult arrests, 4 cases referred to the district attorney’s office, 4 juvenile cases and 38 parking citations. These numbers were in line with July of 2017’s numbers. Some other notable items for the department in July included a couple vehicle theft investigations on July 2nd. They also investigated the theft of some minibikes, which were recovered a few days later and charges are pending.

They also received a report of a stolen vehicle from the city being located in Oconto County, a man was arrested for OWI on an ATV and they had a death investigation, with no foul play suspected. Finally, they assisted in a high speed chase, defused a standoff situation in the city and they had no problems during Neillsville Heritage Days.
