NEW BUSINESS COMING TO MFLD

A new business is coming to Marshfield.
Tech Sand Distrutors Inc., based in Texas, will purchase 57 acres in the Yellowstone Industrial Park.
"We distribute sand to oil and gas companies for injection into wells. It's called frac sand," Tech Sand Vice President Jim Berry explained Tuesday, "We're going to have our own deposit, as opposed to buying the sand from other vendors."
Tech Sand will also build their own processing plant and a rail spur to transport it across the country.
Berry says central Wisconsin just happens to have the right kind of sand for this application.
Tech Sand will hire between 20 to 30 employees, but will also provide business to local truck drivers and haulers.
