SCHOOL IS IN SESSION

It's a bittersweet day for kids around the area.

School is back in session.

Kids return to class today, but they're o.k. with it—for the most part.

"This is a very exciting day," says Neillsville first grade teacher Mrs. Abel. She has a class of 8 boys and 8 girls, "We get to meet lots of new kids and start them out on a positive note."

The first day isn't as tough as others. "No, we ease on into it. We get used being away from home and summer being over and ease on into the day," she explains.

One of her students, Dominic, had mixed feelings today.

"I wanted a little of both (summer vacation and school), because I was excited for school, too," he said.

For as fun as school is, it likely won't be as fun as summer.

"I went for four-wheeler rides, swimming, went to the water park," explain Serena.

When asked if school will be as fun as summer, she doesn't have to think too long.

"No."

Vanessa Zickert is one of the 16 students in Ms. Henchen's 2nd grade class. She said she was excited for Tuesday.

"Because this is the beginning of the school year," Zickert says. She adds she was looking forward to seeing her friends again.

Get used to it kids (and teachers)… school is in session until June 5.
