SEARCH FOR RAPIDS MAN RESUMES

Posted by Riley Hebert-News Director

Authorities near Wisconsin Rapids resumed their search Tuesday for a 23-year-old man who disappeared Friday.

The search for Keith Karnatz was suspended Monday night near the South Wood County Airport.

Officials planned to be in that area again Tuesday.

The staging area for the search is located at the Grand Rapids Municipal Center.

Karnatz was last seen by friends at the Wisconsin Rapids fireworks display Friday night. A friend said the two were fishing on Friday, watched the fireworks and traveled to area taverns.

Feeling he'd had too much to drink, Karnatz decided tried to contact a friend to get a ride home. When that failed, he decided to walk home.

He was reported missing at about 11 a.m. Sunday.
