Three recently graduated seniors and a junior from Alma-Center Lincoln High School have been charged with setting off sparkler bombs that damaged several properties back in February.

The four are charged with three felonies on three separate counts of possession of improvised explosives. They also are charged with criminal damage to property, a misdemeanor.

17-year-old Trevor Earll of Hixton, 18-year-old Whitney Gearing of Alma Center, 18-year-old Matthew Gower of Alma Center and 18-year-old Amanda Hovey of Alma Center have been ordered to appear July 14 in court.

According to records, authorities were called to three separate residences on the night of February 24th after occupants reported hearing explosions.

One of the defendants told authorities they didn't want to scare or hurt anyone, they just wanted to "get people talking at school".

Several of the defendants said they have since apologized to the people. Each faces up to a $10,000 fine or up to six years in prison for each of the felony counts.
