EXPLOSIVE SITUATION DEFUSED

A potentially explosive situation on Neillsville's west side.
A construction crew working on reconstructing Ayres Street ruptured a gas main filling a house with gas Monday morning.
We Energies officials said the gas level of the home at the corner of 5th and Ayers exceeded "explosion level," prompting the evacuation of the home and the closure of streets in the area.
The Neillsville Fire Department successfully vented the home. No one was injured.
